Baby Story

We’d like to take this opportunity to announce a birth! Chaya Tova gave birth to a beautiful baby girl this morning.

Full story:

Chaya Tova woke up at around 1:30 or so in the AM, with stomach pains. She managed to fall back asleep. At 3:00, she awoke again, with significantly worse pain. She woke me up at 3:30, and together we agreed it was due to last nights hot dog dinner. By 4:00, the pain, as well as some other symptoms, convinced us that we were wrong. At 4:15 we called an ambulance, and noticed that she was having periodic pains (about 5 minutes apart). By the time the ambulance arrived (4:25), her pains were 3-4 minutes apart, and between 4:30 and 4:35, we saw 2 minute intervals. We pulled over once, then kept on going, then pulled over again — the baby was born at 4:50 on the side of the road in the ambulance.

The ambulance crew was actually really great and helpful, and despite the lack of drugs, the speed of the labor (<2 hours from noticeable contractions to birth!) was a real bracha. We then continued on to the hospital, where we were able to enjoy a more leisurely recovery.

Twokie (as in Pookie 2, as her temporary name goes) is doing well, sleeping right now (hopefully). There are some pictures from the hospital, as well as some more cellpics available.

Please leave mazal tov comments and whatnot below — I am proud to say we’re not doing an onlysimchas page, although Chaya Tova may not be in full agreement with me.
